Dr. Dave Mahon
Dentistry has been an incredibly fulfilling career for me. I enjoy the hands-on, detail-oriented nature of the profession and value the opportunity to build relationships with patients while helping them achieve their treatment goals. I take a conservative approach to treatment and strive to ensure every visit is a comfortable and positive experience. My treatment philosophy emphasizes patient autonomy, tailoring care to meet the unique needs of each individual.
I’m an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Nevada Dental Association, Nevada Dental Foundation, Southern Nevada Dental Society and Spear Study Club. I regularly attend continuing education courses to stay current with the latest advancements and best practices in dentistry.
I was raised in Reno, Nevada, completed high school in the San Francisco Bay Area, and earned my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. While at Cal, I was part of a championship rowing team that competed at the Henley Royal Regatta in England.
In 1998, I graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. After graduation, I worked alongside my uncle in his dental practice in Indio, California. The following year, I began practicing part-time in Las Vegas. The weekly commute made the dream of becoming a pilot a practical pursuit. Becoming a pilot also allowed me the flexibility to help establish Nevada’s first modern mobile dental practice.
In 2011, I joined Siena Dental, taking over the practice of Dr. Mike, who was no longer able to continue due to a disability.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy various projects including building a backyard roller coaster for my kids, designing an automated lift for an evaporative cooler, and earning a patent for a car transport trailer. I am also proud to support the Nevada Dental Foundation helping to build and operate a small, volunteer clinic that serves underserved communities in rural Nevada.
